Shilp offers for the first time in India Laser precision for Gravure Cylinders.

The gravure cylinders were engraved chemically or through electronically so far. Shilp has now procured state of art; the fiber optic, Digital Laser Engraving machine together with supporting equipment like coating, etching and finishing. In Digital Laser machine, the beam is focused down to 10 microns.

This low size beam allows cutting Micro Text which is important for security and avoiding duplication. It is impossible to cut micro text with electronic engraving.

Digital laser engraving can be used to print cigarette packages, wall paper, labels, acrylic foam printing, food and non food packages, paper, foil, décor and security printing, special applications for UV and water based inks, as well as hot melt and lacquer.

The PC based Digital Laser shows its strength whenever requiring better registration and highest quality, demanding contrast, more depths, smaller dot sizes, higher tone value range with higher contrasts.

The Digital Laser system allows varieties of combinations of numerous screen widths and screen points. The machine is equipped with engraving software to enable step and repeat of images in circumferential and axial direction, seamless joint in circumferential and axial direction, automatic seam correction for vertical lines, roller check on control monitor, image overlay, (overlay check) engraving of registration marks, colour registration check, image cut out and plotting an individual dot gain compensation curve.
